*These gowns are intended for general, non-medical purposes, such as use in construction and other industrial applications. Because they are not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions or in the cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease, FDA device marketing is not required and all the other requirements of the FD&C Act do not apply to manufacturers, importers and distributors of these products. If these were to be imported under FDA guidelines, then they would be classified as Level 1: Minimal risk, to be used, for example, during basic care, standard isolation, cover gown for visitors, or in a standard medical unit.
